The National Centre for Advanced Tribology at Southampton (nCATS) is running an event on Wednesday 8th June 2016 from 10.00am – 15.00pm to celebrate 50 years of Tribology as well as to host a workshop on Green Tribology and the 9th UK-China Tribology Symposium.

This one day event will revolve around a key public lecture by Prof Peter Jost on the benefits of Tribology to business and the future of Tribology.

The day will also contain key international and industrial speakers to illustrate where Tribology has had economic impact and changed product design.

METALS TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATE - METTECH

The University of Sheffield Metals Technology Certificate (METTECH) delivers a strong understanding of the processing, evaluation and applications of metals.

Pitched at NVQ level 3 (A level), METTECH is ideal for technical staff who are routinely involved in the processing or testing of metals-based products. It is also suitable as technical background for staff in engineering and commercial functions. 

Candidates attend six one-day training courses, each followed by an on-line examination.

AMRC Training Centre, in collaboration with the Contract Heat Treatment Association (CHTA), have developed a modular course leading to a formal qualification –  “Certificate in Metallurgy”. This is intended primarily for technical staff who are routinely involved in the processing or testing of metals-based products. It is also suitable as technical background for staff  in engineering and commercial functions.
